Holy Week

Many of them feature our Lutheran college choirs and local groups.

“When We Love” composed by Elaine Hagenberg, based on a poem by C. A. Silvestri, sung by the Luther College Choir. Here are some of the words: “When we love,/ Simply love,/ Even as we are loved, / Our weary world can be transformed.”

Sing Along (you can sing parts on verses 3 and 4):

“Abide With Me” by the St. Olaf College Choir

ELW 629 (new red hymnal)

“Ubi Caritas” by M. Durufle, sung by the Northern Lights Chorale from Minneapolis, Minnesota

“O Sacred Head Now Wounded” performed by the Cathedral Bells of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Orange, California

“I Need Thee Every Hour”, arranged by Sam Robson, sung by the Wartburg College Choir on their tour in Germany

*An extra piece for a patriotic inspiration and to remind ourselves that we can make it through this health and economic crisis: “God Bless America” sung by 800 young Kansas men at Bethany College during the final concert of the “Real Men Sing” concert in 2017, with the magnificent Reuter organ in Presser Hall.
